Tomlinson Close

Tomlinson Close comprises two redevelopment sites within the Newling South and Virginia Estates in Bethnal Green, close to Brick Lane and Bethnal Green Road and adjacent to the Redchurch Street Conservation Area. The surrounding context includes buildings ranging from two to six storeys, predominantly characterised by London stock brickwork, as well as Mulberry Academy and its associated facilities. Proposals include five- and six-storey residential buildings with a high proportion of larger family homes, amenity space, cycle and refuse storage, landscaping, reconfigured allotments and public realm improvements. The scheme also seeks to improve connections across the estate and has progressed through multidisciplinary design development, technical analysis, pre-application discussions and community consultation.
